About Us 

Our Team

Dr. Sonja

Veterinarian / Owner

Dr. Sonja Webster-Hills is a 1992 graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis. She settled into island life with her family after purchasing Islands Veterinary Clinic in 2008. She is passionate about providing individualized personal care for every animal she treats. Dr.Sonja enjoys being able to quickly diagnose and treat challenging cases by utilizing various in house diagnostics, such as ultrasound, digital and dental radiographs and in house lab work. 

 

Outside of work she enjoys spending time at home with her two horses and improving as an equestrian through lessons and competition.  

Andy

Office Coordinator

Avid communicator, web and Internet evangelist with more than 10 years of online and offline marketing experience.

Shelby

Veterinary Assistant

Shelby joined IVC in 2010 after doing a high scool work internship with Dr. Sonja. Shelby enjoys working with senior pets and working with surgery patients. She is currently working on becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. 

 

Outside of work she enjoys mushing with her team of 6 huskies and hiking/jogging with her furry friends. Shelby and her animal- loving fiance, Mark, are getting married this summer. 

Megan

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Megan joined IVC in the fall of 2017 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She earned her BA from Long Beach State University in California, and her AS in Veterinary Technology from Carrington College in California. She first visited San Juan Island in 2010 for an internship at Wolf Hollow WIldlife Rehabilitation center. She then returned two more times to work as a seasonal rehabilitator, until settling onto the island permenantly in 2017.

 

Outside of work, Megan enjoys hiking with her three pups, Marley, Sparrow and Feona, snuggling at home with her four cats, and traveling with her boyfriend Andrew.  

 

Alissa

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Alissa joined IVC in the fall of 2017 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She earned her AS in Veterinary Technology from Baker College of Muskegon in Michigan. She visited the island for the first time in September of 2017 and moved two weeks later to live here permenatley. She especially enjoys helping fearful dogs feel comfortable during thier appointments and developing personal relationships with our patients. 

 

Outside of work Alissa enjoys hiking (say hi if you see me on the trail, I usually have dog treats!), photographry and reading. She will be taking a Marine Naturalist Certification Course this spring.

Will

Reception

Will joined IVC summer of 2017 as our receptionist. He enjoys greeting every animal that walks into the door with a smile and treats! Will is an Air Force Veteran who was active duty for 5 years. 

 

Outside of work Will enjoys living in his tiny house with his fiance,Brittany, two dogs,Koda and Delilah and thier cat,Tango. He enjoys hiking and relaxing at home with their pets. 

Princess Fiona

Hospital Ambassador

Fiona took over the hospital as her personal residence 3 years ago. She is excited to spend her remaining years greeting local cats and sunbathing in the clinic.
